Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew, has dominated the headlines afterKing Charles stripped him of his titlesand evicted him fromRoyal Lodge. While the royal family'smottohas long been "never complain, never explain," they have been confronted lately with questions about what they knew about Andrew'sfriendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Princess Anne, who is currently on a royal tour of Australia, attended a garden party to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Royal Australian Signal Corps and met hundreds of Australian servicemen and women. While at the party, she met James Thorpe, president of the Royal Australian Regiment Association (RARA). ThorpetoldAnne that he'd met her brother, to which Anne replied, "Which one? I have three." Thorpe replied, "Ah, that's the main one, Ma'am," to which the Princess Royal laughed.
Last week while in Brazil, Prince William, too, dodged a question about Andrew. CNN's Christiane AmanpouraskedWilliam about what he meant when he told Eugene Levy"change is on my agenda"for the monarch. Amanpour asked him to expand, "given there has been a lot of change in your family recently," likely referencing his uncle.
Instead, William responded, "I think the Earthshot Prize is a classic example of change. Rather than talk about it, we're doing it. That's where I want it to be, is that, these people in here are the true, actual heroes of our time. Change will come by backing them, not by what I do. I want to surround myself with people who want to make change and do good in the world."
