Being married to Hollywood royalty isn't a bed of roses, at least forHilaria Baldwin.
The wellness entrepreneur and longtime wife ofAlec Baldwinopened up about her marriage to the Oscar-nominated actor during an interview on the"Uncut & Uncensored" podcastreleased Wednesday, Nov. 12.
"In many ways, I did lose part of my identity when I married Alec," Baldwin, 41, told host Caroline Stanbury. "Not only other people talking about me for the first time on a very massive level."
Baldwin, who is 26 years younger than Alec Baldwin, 67, married the actor in 2012 when she was 28 and Baldwin was 54. The couple shareseven children.
"I don't believe that age is just a number, at least in our situation," Baldwin said. "There are certain things where I have to look at him and say, 'He has 26 more years of experience,' and sometimes that's a flex, and sometimes that means that we need to do a little therapy."
Mental health experts have previously told USA TODAY thatage-gap relationshipshave unique challenges, and it's critical to consider the power dynamics involved to have a happy, healthy and safe relationship.
"Significant age-gap relationships require more work than the average relationship, from the public's perception alone," Rori Sassoon, a relationship expert and matchmaker, told USA TODAY. "If you're only in it to feed your ego, beware."
