Back in the days when hair metal reigned supreme, Bon Jovi and Def Leppard ruled the airwaves. Whether you were listening to the radio or watching MTV, you couldn't go very long without hearing or seeing one of their chart-topping hits or constantly in-demand videos. But despite the immense crossover appeal a collaboration between the two bands would have had, fans never got to hear Bon Jovi and Def Leppard join forces in the recording studio...until now.
In a recent video shared on TikTok,Jon Bon Jovi, 63, made an announcement music lovers have been hoping to hear for decades.
"Ladies and gentlemen, read all about it," the rocker began, addressing the camera.
"The first time ever, for your listening pleasure, Def Leppard and Bon Jovi come together. The fanbase loved it. My dear friendJoe Elliott[leader singer of Def Leppard] I called him up and he said, 'It's about time.'"
"I couldn't agree more," Bon Jovi continued. "This is a barn burner, this one's called 'The Walls of Jericho.' Would be a hell of a lot of fun to have good old Joe up there onstage with me singing this one. Thank you Joe."
Fans in the comments were unsurprisingly thrilled to hear about the long-awaited alliance.
"Awesome collab!" wrote one fan, with a second adding, "WHAT? OMG Amazing."
"My childhood dream!!" declared someone else.

Released in October, Bon Jovi'sForever (Legendary Edition)is an updated take on their 2024 album, Forever, featuring an impressive array of guest stars in addition to Elliott, includingBruce Springsteen,Jelly Roll, andLainey Wilson.
"This album is more than just a collection of collaborations, it is an album borne out of necessity," Jon Bon Jovi explained in a statement, perUltimate Classic Rock. "My vocal cord rehab was a well-documented journey that played out while releasingForeverin 2024. I was singing well in the studio for recording, but the vocal demands and rigors of touring were still slightly out of reach for me. Without an ability to tour at that time, I continued working in the studio and called on some friends, great singers, artists, musicians and also just great people.""The result is an album with a new viewpoint and new spirit — a collaboration album that proves we all get by in this world with a little help from our friends," he said. "I feel tremendous joy and gratitude releasing this album and I think it shows in the music. I can say with certainty that there is always something bigger than ME, and that's WE."
Luckily for fans, Bon Jovi is scheduled to embark on a major tour in 2026. As for whether or not Elliott will make a special appearance, that remains to be seen.
