Jordon Hudson, Belichick's girlfriend, has reportedly planned tothrow a bash for the future Hall of Fameron Thursday, Feb. 5, the date of the NFL Honors and Awards show, where Hall of Fame inductees will be named.

Ahead of that, she (somewhat) broke her silence onBelichick's Hall of Fame snub, posting a screenshot to her Instagram page of a canceled Pro Football Hall of Fame online purchase with a sarcastic caption to accompany it on Wednesday, Feb. 3.

"Hey @profootballhof, what were the "unforeseen circumstances"?" she posted with a laughing emoji.

The order seemed to include three Pro Football Hall of Fame patches. The automated email from the Pro Football Hall of Fame says that the order was "canceled because of unforeseen circumstances."

It's unclear if the order was canceled by the retail arm of the Hall or by Hudson.

Hudson and Belichick have been attached at the hip since 2024, with the pairing appearing in public together beginning in December 2024.

The Tigers said Lolich's wife told them that he died after a short stay in hospice care. An exact cause of death was not provided.

Denny McLain was the star of Detroit's pitching staff in 1968, winning 31 regular-season games. But Lolich was the Most Valuable Player of the Series, with a ERA of 1.67 and a Game 7 road victory over Bob Gibson and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Bill Freehan threw off his catcher's mask and caught a foul pop-up by Tim McCarver for the final out. Lolich jumped into Freehan's arms — an iconic image of Detroit's championship season.

"It was always somebody else," Lolichtold the Detroit Free Pressin 2018, "but my day had finally come."

He is No. 23 in career strikeouts with 2,832, ahead of many others who, unlike Lolich, are in the Hall of Fame, and fifth among all lefties, according to baseball-reference.com.

Lolich was an unlikely hero in 1968. During a reunion of the World Series team, he recalled how manager Mayo Smith had sent him to the bullpen for much of August. He returned to the Tigers' starting rotation and was 6-1 in the final weeks.

"I was having a few problems, but I had been a starting pitcher ever since 1964," said Lolich, who was upset about the bullpen move. "I remember telling him, 'If we win this thing this year it's going to be because of me.' But I was only talking about the season. I wasn't talking about the World Series.

"I got my revenge back in the World Series," he said.

Lolich pitched Game 7 after only two days of rest. He figured he would get a Corvette from General Motors for being the Series MVP but had to settle for a Dodge Charger GT because Chrysler was the sponsor in 1968.

"Nothing against Chargers, nothing at all," Lolich said in his book, "Joy in Tigertown." "It's just that I already had two of them in my driveway."

Since Lolich, only Arizona's Randy Johnson in 2001 has won three games in a World Series, though Johnson pitched about 10 fewer innings and was a relief pitcher, not a starter, in Game 7.

Lolich had a record of 220-192, including the postseason, over a 16-year career, all but three with Detroit. He left baseball after playing for the New York Mets in 1976 but returned with San Diego in 1978-79.

The left-hander was 25-14 in 1971, striking out 308 batters over 376 innings and finishing second in AL Cy Young award voting. He followed that up with a 22-14 record and 250 strikeouts in 1972.

In a statement, the Tigers expressed condolences to Lolich's family and said his legacy "will forever be cherished."

After his baseball career, Lolich, a native of Portland, Oregon, was in the doughnut business in suburban Detroit, making and selling them for 18 years.

"I doubt any other ballplayer has ever made that transition — from the diamond to doughnuts. But I did," he wrote in his book.

In return, the Rangers receive forward Liam Greentree and conditional third-round (2026) and fourth-round (2028) picks, the Kings announced. The Rangers retain half of Panarin's salary, and he received a two-year extension from Los Angeles with an $11 million cap hit.

The struggling Rangers had sent a letter to fans that that they were going toretool their rosterand that it might mean saying "goodbye to players that have brought us and our fans great moments over the years."

Panarin was told that the team would not be offering him a contract extension. He was in the final year of a seven-year contract averaging $11.6 million and had a full no-movement clause. Last week,they held him out of the lineupto prevent him from getting hurt as they worked out a trade.

Los Angeles Kings: B+

The Kings need offense, ranking 28th in the league, and Panarin provides plenty, leading the Rangers every year in scoring since he arrived as a free agent in 2019. Even in a down year, he has 57 points in 52 games. Los Angeles is third in goals-against average, so a little extra boost on the scoring side could translate to more wins. That's important with the Kings sitting one point out of a playoff spot and trying to go on a postseason run in captainAnze Kopitar's final year. Getting the 34-year-old signed for another two years will help the Kings after Kopitar retires.

New York Rangers: C

Panarin was the Rangers' best trade asset and the return seems low. Greentree is 20, 6-foot-3, 216 pounds and was a 2024 first-round pick. He had 119 points last season with the Windsor (Ontario) Spitfires. But there was no first-round pick in the deal. Thethird-rounder can move to a secondif the Kings win a playoff round and a fourth-rounder comes into play if they win two rounds. Panarin had to choose where he went, so that limited the Rangers' options. Also hurting their return: New York made clear it was moving him and he was a pending unrestricted free agent.

Devils acquire Nick Bjugstad

The New Jersey Devils acquired bottom-six forward Nick Bjugstad from the St. Louis Blues for forward Thomas Bordeleau and a conditional fourth-round pick.

Carol Burnettis reflecting on her life growing up in Los Angeles — in the shadow of a Hollywood sign that she used to literally climb as a child.

Speaking on the Tuesday, Feb. 3 episode ofAmy Poehler'sGood Hang With Amy Poehlerpodcast, the legendary comedian said of her childhood in LA, "You didn't have to lock your doors."

"And every morning when I would go out getting ready to go to school, I'd look up and there was a Hollywood sign," Burnett, who turned 92 last April, said. "And we used to climb the Hollywood sign. The other neighborhood kids and I — now you can't get near it."

She continued: "We would fly kites or roller skate and they would say, 'I'm bored. Let's go climb the sign.' So we did. And it was just, it was kind of rickety then, they've fixed it up now."

"And there were splinters and I would climb up, and get splinters, and it's a wonder we didn't break our neck. And then the 'O's' were my favorite. And I would just hang over the 'O's' and say, 'Hello, Hollywood. Hello.' We do the Tarzan yell and all of that."

Burnett lived with her grandmother at the time and, as she described elsewhere in the podcast, they were so poor she could not afford tuition at UCLA.

"I lived with my grandmother in one room, a block north of Hollywood Boulevard," she said. "And we were poor. Our rent was $1 a day, $30 a month, and sometimes we could hardly manage that. And so I graduated from Hollywood High. And I desperately wanted to go to UCLA. And my grandmother said, 'Forget it. You know, we can't afford the tuition, there's no way.'"

Tuition for one semester at the school, she added, was $50.

"So we lived in this apartment building [and] every morning, I would check — there was a pigeonhole mailbox for all the apartments — and I would look out and see if we had a little letter or something in our slot," she added. "So I go up, and there's a letter in this slot. This one morning, I came out and I opened it up in our room. My name was typewritten on the envelope. And there was a $50 bill. I do not to this day know where that came from."

Speaking to PEOPLE in 2018, Burnett explained that shestill doesn't know whosent the mystery cash.

"There's something bigger than we are," the actress said at the time, reflecting on her good fortune with PEOPLE. "I don't want to sound woo-woo, but there are so many wonderful coincidences in my life."

While at UCLA, Burnett developed a passion for theatrical studies and set out to star on Broadway after graduation. Eventually she got her first regular on-screen role as Celia, the girlfriend of Buddy Hackett's titular character, in the sitcomStanleyfrom 1956 to 1957.

Later that year, she solidified her status as a comedienne with her hit parody number swooning over America's then-Secretary of State. She performed "I Made a Fool of Myself Over John Foster Dulles" on major TV programs likeThe Ed Sullivan Show.

Police in Milton, Georgia, issueda missing persons report Tuesday for Smith, also a rapper who goes by the name DJ Young Slade. Smith ran out of his home around 6 a.m. on Feb. 3, according to police, and has been missing since. He left on foot without his phone, the report says, adding that he "may be disoriented and in need of assistance."

"Friends and family are concerned for his safety," police say, before asking residents to contact the department with any pertinent information.

"The family is asking for privacy at this time. We are also asking for continued prayers for Nathan to come home safe. Thank you," a rep for Lil Jon said in a statement to USA TODAY Feb. 4.

Lil Jon,whose legal name is Jonathan Smith, is an Atlanta-born rapper andrecord producerwho rose to prominence in the early 2000s. Known for tracks like "Snap Yo Fingers" and "Turn Down For What," he is credited as one of the godfathers of modern club hip-hop.

Nathan Smith is the son of the musician and ex-partner Nicole Smith, whom he wed in 2004. The pair separated in 2022. Smith has since followed in his father's footsteps, making his own mark on the hip-hop genre.

"He started DJing at 11 years old,"Lil Jon said in a 2023 interviewwith "The Big Podcast,"per People. "I put him in Scratch DJ Academy. He graduated at like 12 years old. He was the smallest thing in there in the graduation. Throughout his teenage years, he started DJing in clubs around L.A., and then he also started making music.

Julie Le had been working for the Justice Department on a detail, but the U.S. attorney in Minnesota ended her assignment after her comments in court on Tuesday, the person said. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a personnel matter. She had been working for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement before the temporary assignment.

At a hearing Tuesday in St. Paul, Minnesota, for several immigration cases, Le told U.S. District Judge Jerry Blackwell that she wishes he could hold her in contempt of court "so that I can have a full 24 hours of sleep."

"What do you want me to do? The system sucks. This job sucks. And I am trying every breath that I have so that I can get you what you need," Le said, according to a transcript.

Le's extraordinary remarks reflect the intense strain that has been placed on the federal court system since President Donald Trump returned to the White House a year ago with a promise to carry out mass deportations. ICE officials have said the surge in Minnesota has become its largest-ever immigration operation since ramping up in early January.

Several prosecutors haveleft the U.S. Attorney's officein Minnesota amid frustration with the immigration enforcement surge and the Justice Department's response to fatal shootings of two civilians by federal agents. Le was assigned at least 88 cases in less than a month, according to online court records.

Blackwell told Le that the volume of cases isn't an excuse for disregarding court orders. He expressed concern that people arrested in immigration enforcement operations are routinely jailed for days after judges have ordered their release from custody.

"And I hear the concerns about all the energy that this is causing the DOJ to expend, but, with respect, some of it is of your own making by not complying with orders," the judge told Le.

Le said she was working for the Department of Homeland Security as an ICE attorney in immigration court before she "stupidly" volunteered to work the detail in Minnesota. Le told the judge that she wasn't properly trained for the assignment. She said she wanted to resign from the job but couldn't get a replacement.

"Fixing a system, a broken system, I don't have a magic button to do it. I don't have the power or the voice to do it," she said.

Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said Le was a probationary attorney.

"This conduct is unprofessional and unbecoming of an ICE attorney in abandoning her obligation to act with commitment, dedication, and zeal to the interests of the United States Government," McLaughlin said in a statement.

Le and the U.S. Attorney's office in Minnesota didn't immediately respond to emails seeking comment.

Kira Kelley, an attorney who represented two petitioners at the hearing, said the flood of immigration petitions is necessary because "so many people being detained without any semblance of a lawful basis."

"And there's no indication here that any new systems or bolded e-mails or any instructions to ICE are going to fix any of this," she added.

Hamlin, 45, told reporters on Wednesday ahead of the Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium that he re-injured his right shoulder but will put off surgery until after the season because of the lengthy recovery timeline. Hamlin had surgery on his right rotator cuff after the 2023 season and dealt with the injury in the latter weeks of that season.

He said that he found out the muscle in his shoulder was re-torn after he fell going through debris at his parents' house. Hamlin's father Dennis died from injuries sustained in the fire on Dec. 28 in Stanley, North Carolina, and his mother, Mary Lou, was seriously injured. Hamlin said Wednesday that his mother's condition was improving.

Dennis Hamlin had been in declining health before the fire. Denny Hamlin had said during the 2025 playoffs that he believed that it was his dad's last opportunity to see him win a championship.

Hamlin did not get that title despite dominating the final race of the season at Phoenix. He led 208 of the race's 319 laps, but a late caution for William Byron's tire failure set up a green-white-checkered finish and Hamlin's team's four-tire pit stop strategy backfired as Kyle Larson finished ahead of Hamlin for the title.

It was a tumultuous end to 2025 — to put it mildly — for Hamlin. His 23XI Racing team also settled its lawsuit with NASCAR in December over the sanctioning body's charter system. The settlement was a win for 23XI and Front Row Motorsports, the plaintiffs in the suit, as NASCAR relented on its previous stance and granted teams permanent charters.

Hamlin, who is arguably the best NASCAR driver to not win a title, finished fifth in 2023 as he dealt with his shoulder injury. A crash at Homestead effectively ended his hopes for a championship in the 34th race of that season.

This season, the title format will be much different. NASCAR has re-implemented the cumulative 10-race Chase after using a multi-round elimination format since 2014. The winner-take-all title race is gone, as the driver who has the most points at the end of the playoffs will win the title.
