Blake Shelton was reportedly caught off guard after his ex-wife, Miranda Lambert, revisited their difficult divorce during a recent podcast appearance.
According to an unnamed source, the country singer believed they had moved past their 2015 split and did not expect Lambert to discuss that period of their relationship publicly again.

Lambert recently reflected on her marriage to Shelton during an appearance on songwriter Ross Golan’s And the Writer Is podcast.
The singer discussed the challenges of ending their four-year marriage while both maintained successful careers in the public eye.
“I got divorced, and that s*cks for anyone, especially in the public eye, especially on tour, especially in the middle of a very public career, two of us, you know what I mean?” Lambert said.
“It just was a really not fun time.”
According to In Touch, Lambert’s remarks reportedly caught Shelton off guard.
“He really thought they’d both put that chapter behind them,” a source told the outlet.
The source added that Shelton did not resent Lambert for discussing their past.
“He’s not angry, he accepts that she has the right to talk about her life and, truth be told, he does feel bad,” the source said.
Shelton and Lambert’s divorce attracted considerable public attention when they ended their marriage in July 2015. According to the source, Shelton has since moved beyond the difficult emotions surrounding their split.
Both singers also rebuilt their personal lives after the divorce. Lambert married former New York City police officer Brendan McLoughlin in 2019, while Shelton married Gwen Stefani in 2021.
The source further claimed that Shelton regrets how his marriage to Lambert ended. They particularly mentioned that it is because they had shared many happy years.
The insider also suggested that Shelton would like to maintain a friendship with Lambert. It is quite similar to the relationship between former spouses Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow.
However, the source questioned whether their current partners would be comfortable with that kind of relationship.
Neither Shelton nor Lambert has publicly confirmed the claims about Shelton’s reaction to her podcast comments. Based on the source’s account, the discussion surprised him, but he does not appear to hold a grudge against his former wife.
